7/8/2024 The S&P 500 hovered near a fresh record Monday even as investors await key inflation data to provide further clues about whether this year’s market rally is sustainable. Earnings from some major financial giants and consumer companies are also on the docket. The broad market index inched up 0.01% after reaching an all-time high, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.2%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 88 points lower, or 0.2%. Intel and Boeing rose 5% and 3%, respectively, to lead the Dow higher.

7/5/2024 The S&P 500 & NASDAQ 100 Indices were higher today from major squeezes of the Big 7 Stocks (see chart above).   The weaker DOW 30 and Small Caps were lower.  The Rally has narrowed down to a small number of stocks, which historically is not Bullish.

The Watch List is tiny now, so be patient. Wait for more Buy Signals  coming up out of the Green Zones.  CHARTS  The best moves happen when the S&P 500 Index is also coming up out of the Green Zone.  ______________________________________________________________________________

7/3/2024 The S&P 500 ticked higher in Wednesday’s shortened trading session as investors appeared to look past sluggish economic data. The broad index added 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.4%. Both touched fresh all-time highs in the session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 53 points, or 0.1%, dragged down by a drop of nearly 2% in UnitedHealth. Trading volume was muted Wednesday with the New York Stock Exchange closing early at 1 p.m. ET. The exchange will be shut on Thursday for Independence Day.

7/2/2024 Stocks churned Tuesday as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell noted progress on inflation, but reiterated that the central bank was not quite ready to cut rates. The S&P 500 rose slightly as Tesla shares jumped, even as Nvidia shares declined. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded just below flat. The S&P 500 added 0.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped about 0.5%. Tesla shares supported the S&P 500 as Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company reported better-than-expected deliveries for the second quarter. The stock, which had a rough first half, jumped about 9%.

7/1/2024 Stocks were higher Monday as Wall Street looked to maintain the strong momentum seen in the first half of 2024. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 29 points, or 0.2%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.1%. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.5%. Technology stocks Microsoft and Alphabet traded marginally higher, alongside artificial intelligence favorite Nvidia. Treasury yields soared, with the benchmark 10-year climbing more than 13 basis points to 4.477%.
